Meet the Woman behind One Organised Woman
Hi, I'm Melissa.
I'm the woman behind One Organised Woman, and for more than 10 years I've been helping people declutter, simplify and create calmer spaces when life feels a little overwhelming.
But I didn't start out as a professional organiser.
I spent 20 years working in the finance world with Coles Myer and Diageo, and later owned a retail business in Melbourne CBD. When my three daughters started school, I decided it was time to follow something that had always come naturally to me — helping people create practical spaces and making life feel a little easier.
And I've never looked back.
Your home, your way.
I'm not interested in creating picture-perfect homes or following rigid decluttering rules.
I believe your home should work for you and your family. Sometimes letting go of something is absolutely the right decision, and sometimes an item has sentimental value that makes it worth keeping.
There is no perfect answer and no universal rulebook.
My role is to help you work through the decisions without judgement, find practical solutions and create space for the things that genuinely matter to you.
Practical support when life feels overwhelming
Over the years, I've helped people through all sorts of situations — from families overwhelmed by too much stuff, to people preparing to move or downsize, and families facing the difficult task of sorting through a loved one's possessions after they've passed away.
These situations can be emotional and exhausting. You don't have to tackle them alone.
I bring practical experience, plenty of ideas and a few tried-and-tested life hacks, along with a calm and compassionate approach. I'll make suggestions, help you work through decisions and find realistic solutions, but I'll never tell you there is only one "right" way to do things.
Sometimes I have the answer. Sometimes we'll work it out together. And sometimes the answer is simply the one that feels right for you and your family.
A little bit about me
Outside of One Organised Woman, you'll usually find me doing Pilates, browsing my favourite op shops, cooking for my family or spending time with the people I love.
I've also experienced many of the life transitions my clients face — moving house, raising three daughters, divorce, losing a parent and dealing with an estate. Those experiences have shaped the way I work and reinforced how important it is to have someone beside you who understands.
No judgement. No rigid rules. Just practical, compassionate support — one decision at a time.
Creating Calm - ONE Space at a Time
